TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansans are taking part in a world-wide effort to help kids in need during the holiday season.

Volunteers are filling shoe boxes with school supplies, toys, hygiene items and much more for kids overseas as part of this year's Operation Christmas Child.

This week is National Collection Week, with organizers taking donations. People can drop off shoe box gifts to the Topeka Relay Cente, 4141 SW 53rd St., through Monday, Nov. 19.

Operation Christmas Child will deliver its 100-millionth gift this year, distributing boxes worldwide since 1993.
