'Operation Candyland' Yields 12 Prostitution Arrests In Topeka
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Local law enforcement agencies say a former deputy attorney general for the state of Kansas is among 12 people arrested in a Topeka internet prostitution sting.
Leaders say the 12, including three women and nine men, were arrested in the last several weeks, as part of a joint operation from the Topeka Police Department, the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office, and the Shawnee County District Attorney's Office.
Officials call the Internet sting "Operation Candyland." They say the men and women arrested were allegedly involved in illegal prostitution that was advertised online.
Craig S. Rarrick, who was with the Kansas Attorney General's Office Consumer Protection and Antitrust division from 1995 to 2003, was arrested on promotion of prostitution charges. Others arrested include:

Natasha L. Morris

Topeka Police Chief Ron Miller, Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor, and Shawnee County Sheriff Herman Jones announced the results of the investigation, and answered questions from the media on Wednesday (8/15).
Prostitution charges are misdemeanors, the severity and penalty of
which is set by the Kansas legislature. Authorities say the
investigation is ongoing.
