TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)_ David Weiland, 49, has been identified as the man shot Saturday morning in Topeka.
Police said Monday that Weiland remains hospitalized. Police did not provide an updated medical status. He was listed in serious but stable condition Saturday.
Officers responded to 1208 Southwest 23rd around 8 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found Weiland suffering from a gunshot wound.
A female caller told police dispatch that she and her son, 6, were asleep when they woke to the sound of a loud noise.
Further details of the incident were not released. An investigation in ongoing.
