One Arrested Following Overnight Stabbing In Emporia

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Police are investigating an overnight stabbing at Emporia's Wild West Saloon.

Police responded to the business at 802 Graham just before 1:30 a.m. where an altercation had taken place in the Wild West parking lot, according to police.

David Highley, 39, was allegedly stabbed several times in the torso with a small knife by Sidney Walstrom, 23, police said Friday.

Highley was transported to Newman’s Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.

Walstrom left the area but was located several blocks away from the crime scene.

Walstrom was arrested and incarcerated at the Lyon County Jail.
Charges are pending through the Lyon County Attorney’s Office.
