Two Seriously Hurt In Ogden Hit And Run | Suspected Driver Caught

OGDEN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A hit and run wreck in Ogden Monday sent two motorcycle riders to the hospital and the suspected driver to jail.

According to the Riley Co. Police Dept., the driver, Johnny Cossey, 38, of Ogden, ran a stop sign on S. Walnut St. and collided with the two bikes, which were heading west on Riley Ave.

Cossey then reportedly took off on foot, but was later captured by police. Authorities are still investigating the incident.

James Garrett III, 48, of Ogden was air lifted to Via Christy Hospital in Wichita for treatment.

Steven Cannon, 29, of Ogden was taken by AMR to Mercy Regional in Manhattan.

Both Garrett and Cannon's conditions are not known.

Cossey was placed under arrest for leaving the scene of an accident and is currently being held at the Riley County Jail on a $7,000 bond.

The crash shut down the intersection for from around 4:30 p.m. to nearly 6:00 p.m.
