OGDEN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A reported sexual assault in Ogden spurred a lockout at the town's elementary school. USD 383 told KMAN-AM that Ogden Elementary was placed on lockout shortly before 3:00 p.m.
A lockout involves locking school doors and not letting people in or out of the school, authorities explained. It doesn't involve all of the security precautions of a lockdown.
Riley Co. Police were called to Ogden for an "isolated complaint of sexual assault between two people known to each other," they explained via Twitter. Authorities informed school officials about the incident but did not direct them to go into a lockdown.
"We have no evidence to support a direct threat to the children or the school itself," they said on Twitter.
Few details were released regarding the sexual assault. Police said the two people involved knew each other, adding that no arrests have been made at this point.
