New Online Gaming Encourges Student Learning

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-The Kansas Supreme Court and the Kansas Bar Association initiated a new effort to encourage students in civil learning in Kansas classrooms.

iCivics is a free online civics education program started by the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

The icivics.org website provides a digital gaming approach to engage students in government topics. Kansas Supreme Court Chief Justice Lawton R. Nuss is excited about what iCivics has to offer.

"What's unique is that you have an online game that isn't boring and it's fun for students and teachers can also develop a curriculum," said Nuss.
