National Guard Bureau Chief Visits Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The highest ranking National Guard officer in the U.S. military was in Topeka Monday.

Gen. Frank J. Grass met with Maj. Gen. Lee Tafanelli and senior leadership of the Kansas National Guard.

Grass is also the chief of the National Guard Bureau. He routinely visits National Guard headquarters to discuss National Guard Bureau issues and policies and to hear concerns from state adjutants general.

Grass was formerly the deputy commander of the U.S. Northern Command before becoming chief last September.
