Name Released Of Man Nearly Crushed At Recycling Facility

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW-TV) -- We now know the identity of the man involved in an accident involving heavy equipment at a local recycling facility.

Robert Lawrenz was rushed to the hospital Saturday morning after being injured at Bailey's Recycling, 4120 N.E. Seward around 9 a.m.

Lawrenz, an employee at Bailey's was in the cab of a truck that was going to be recycled when the accident happened.

The truck was grabbed by a heavy piece of machinery using a grapple before a bystander was able to get the equipment operator to stop.

Lawrenz had to be extricated from the truck by Shawnee Heights Fire personnel.

He was taken to Stormont-Vail with serious injuries.
