TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two new businesses officially opened their doors during the March First Friday Artwalk.

Both are in the NOTO arts district and marked the occasion with ribbon cuttings.

Custom Kayak, 925 N. Kansas Ave., features custom kayaks, handmade using cedar and redwood combined with a high tech carbon fiber. Each kayak takes about 500 hours to complete.

The store offers kayaks for purchase or rent. They also have space for those who need a place to work on building their own.

Matryoshka Fine Arts, Gifts and Tattoos also marked its grand opening. Visitors can shop at their gift boutique, explore the art gallery or even get a tattoo at this store.

Matryoshka takes its name from the Russian nesting dolls.
