TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- North Topeka is officially ready for the holiday season.
Students from Quincy Elementary School helped kick off Christmas in the North Topeka Arts District Thursday night by singing carols and making ornaments. Their creations decorated a tree displayed inside the NOTO Community Arts Center. Outdoors, NOTO leaders lit a tree to shine brightly over this year's Candlelight Christmas.
North Kansas Avenue has many other glittering decorations for the season, including an oversized "NOTO" spelled out in lights. Thursday night, candles inside paper bags lined the streets. The luminaries were held down by canned goods, donated by NOTO merchants, which will be given to the Topeka Rescue Mission.
NOTO Candlelight Christmas activies continue Friday and Saturday. You can view the schedule of events by clicking here.
