Murder Charge In Deadly Wichita Carjacking

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -- First degree murder charges have been filed in a carjacking that left a Wichita man dead. Edward Ladish appeared in Sedgwick County District Court today where he was also charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated battery and theft.

Police said Ladish tried to steal a truck near Meridian and MacArthur Saturday morning. Shawn Palmer and his brother tried to stop the theft. Palmer held on to the truck, but eventually fell off. He was run over by a trailer. Palmer died from his injuries.

Kansas Corrrections records show Ladish was discharged from state custody on June 19th. He served time for theft, burglary and drug offenses.

Ladish's bond is set at $250,000.
