TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 30 year-old Topeka man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman who was found in a motel room late last year. Charles Redick faces a premeditated first-degree murder charge, the Shawnee Co. District Attorney's Office said on Monday.

Maintenance workers found Lena Keithley's body at the Country Club Motel in November. According to the DA's office Redick killed her there on November 15, 2013.

Officials never said how Keithley died.

Chief Deputy Jacqie Spradling will prosecute the case. A court date has not been set.

DA Chad Taylor thanked the "dedicated work" of the Topeka Police Dept. in their investigation.
