Mulvane Art Museum Honors Local Artist With Exhibit

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A local artist known for creating richly colorful canvases of the American landscape was honored at the Mulvane Art Museum on the Washburn University campus.

Art Historian Ed Navone led a conversation on James Pringle Cook's work at an exhibit entitled "The Painted Image," at the museum.

Cook grew up in Eskridge and attended summer art classes at the Mulvane Art Museum.

He is known for his lavish and vigorous brush strokes that bring the viewer closer to the great wonders of the flint hills where he grew up...
