TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - It will soon cost you a couple bucks more to title and register your vehicle.
Shawnee County Treasurer Larry Mah announced Thursday that beginning July 1, new titles will cost $5 and renewals will be $3 -- up from the current $2 fees.
The increase will go toward title processing expenses linked to the state's new registration system, plus, improvements to decrease waiting times, such as the new host positions we told you about Wednesday night on 13 News.
The fees only apply to walk-in customers. Avoid them by applying online or by mail.
