Most Of Ft. Riley Civilian Workers Are Back On Duty

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Most of Fort Riley civilian employees came back on duty this morning. After last week's announcement from the pentagon.

Secretary Chuck Hagel recalled most Defense Department civilians placed on emergency furlough due to the federal shutdown a week ago.

Garrison Commander Colonel Andrew Cole says,"Fort Riley is very please, it is the right thing to do, bring our civilian workers back who are a part of team Riley."

The Justice Department has ruled this does not allow for the blanket return of all civilian workers.
