Morning Chase Spans Two Counties, One Man Behind Bars

TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) -- An early morning chase spanning two counties sent one man to jail.

The Topeka Police Department said around 12:30 Thursday morning officers attempted to stop a Toyota Camry at Harrison & N. Topeka Blvd.
The driver sped north into Jackson County before turning back into Shawnee county.

Authorities deployed stop sticks to end the pursuit. The exact location of where the chase ended was not provided.

The driver, 27-year-old Allen Burgett, was arrested and taken to a local hospital with breathing problems, them later transported to jail and booked on felony flee and elude charges.
