TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Topeka man charged with killing two men over the past 14 years pleaded guilty to both murders on Thursday, according to the officials from the Shawnee Co. Courthouse.

Monroe Lockhart III is currently serving a nearly 10 year-sentence for a violent home invasion unrelated to either murder.

The 40 year-old was already charged with the January 2012 killing of his business partner Corey Brown when Shawnee Co. Dist. Attorney Chad Taylor announced a new murder charge earlier this month. The new charge stemmed from the Valentine's Day 2000 shooting death of 25 year-old Damon J. Anderson of Topeka.

Lockhart is scheduled to be sentenced on February 28, 2014.
