Mission Township Fire Department Holds Open House For Residents

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- A local fire department got familiar with their residents in a fun and festive way.

The Mission Township Fire Department held an open house that not only featured free hot dogs and hamburgers but also fire safety and prevention instructional activities. A mock water rescue was performed and kids had the opportunity to see the fire trucks and first responder vehicles up close.

Helping Hands mobile adoption unit was also on hand at today's open house.
