EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Lyon County Sheriff Office is reporting a Garnett woman missing since Wednesday afternoon has been found alive and safe.
Kansas Highway Patrol and Chase County Sheriff joined together for the search for 51-year-old Debra Johnston.
The search was along east of the Kansas Turnpike and mile marker 108.
Chase County Officials say she was found near southeast Chase County around 2:40 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities are searching for a 51 year-old woman who has disappeared and, they believe, may be in danger. Debra Lee Johnston was last seen walking along the Kansas Turnpike into the Flinthills around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Lyon Co. Sheriff's Office said it received a statewide alert to be on the lookout for her early Friday morning. They began searching at daybreak.
Johnston was last seen wearing a brown sweatshirt and carrying a red backpack. The Sheriff's Office said she is 5'5" tall, weighing 150-160 lbs., with blonde to sandy blonde hair and green eyes.
