TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A small child suffered minor injuries after being bitten by a dog Wednesday.
Police were called to a home at 2144 SE Maryland just after 8:30 a.m. on reports of a dog bite.
A child with a bloody nose was seen being taken from the home by an adult. The baby was put in a private car that left the scene.
Shawnee County Dispatch told 13 News that the child was checked out at a local hospital for minor injuries.
Authorities are checking the dog for vaccinations, and for rabies, which is standard procedure for incidents involving dog bites.
