MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - Dozens of Manhattan residents gathered tonight at the Holiday Inn Landon Room for the Dress a Heart Gala.
The event serves as a fundraising effort for the Cardiac Initiative, which strives to help the hospital expand local cardiac services thereby increasing access to heart care in the Manhattan area.
"It’s so fun to look around the room and you see all of these community leaders showing up as they’ve done for 10 years," said Senior Administrator John Broberg. "We have a book that Janice put together that shows all of the people and they’re the same ones that keep coming. They’re just so excited to be here to celebrate it with us."
Over the past nine years, the gala has raised over one million two hundred and seventy thousand dollars. This funding has been used for development of a state-of-the-art "cath" lab, recruitment of two interventional cardiologists, and much more.
The night capped off with entertainment provided by The Exceptions, featuring Betti O.
