Meeting Teaches Intervention Methods For Vulnerable Adults

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Community members learned about prevenion and protection and services for adults today.

Adult Protective Services advocates for people who are unable to protect themselves.

The program trains individuals in proper ways to intervene whent there are reports of abuse or neglect or adults with various impairments.

The meeting covered program updates, introduced new staff and featured a presentation on completing an investigation if an adult is suffering abuse or neglect.

The program is run through the Department for Children and Families.

The meeting was held in the DCF Learning Center, rooms A and B this morning from 10 a.m. to noon.
