TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Area high schools stepped out for a good time Wednesday night.
The Capital City Marching Band Festival took the field at Yager stadium on Washburn University's campus. Marching bands, color guards and drum lines book their best feet forward for the judges.
Nine schools took part, including Highland Park, Topeka West, Washburn Rural, Shawnee Heights, Seaman, Mission Valley and Osage City. Leavenworth and KC Turner also made the trip.
Groups earned awards for musical performance, entertainment value, marching and maneuvering.
