Manhattan Woman Killed In Collision On Tuttle Creek Blvd.

RILEY COUNTY, Kan. -- On Friday April 19, 2013 officers from the Riley County Police Department were dispatched to the 6000 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard north of Manhattan around 4 PM for an injury accident involving two vehicles. Through their preliminary investigation, officers were able to determine that a car operated by Carol Douglas, 51, of Manhattan drifted over the center line where it collided with a vehicle driven by Jason Ellis, 37, of Manhattan. Richard Rowe, 68, of Maryland was also a passenger in Ellis’ vehicle.

As a result of the accident, Carol Douglas succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Her next of kin have been notified. Jason Ellis was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries and Richard Rowe was air lifted to KU Med in Kansas City with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation into this accident continues.
