MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The Manhattan Rotary Club welcomed Senator Jerry Moran to its weekly meeting Thursday afternoon.
Senator Moran opened by addressing both local and statewide items, focusing primarily on the recent funding received by NBAF in the latest omnibus bill.
"The good news is that the money was appropriated - $404 million in the last appropriation bill," Moran said. "That leaves only $300 million left to complete that project and that money is in the administration’s budget. So our task will be to make certain that the congress agrees with that appropriation."
Senator Moran also touched on the three Kansas teams playing in this year’s NCAA tournament.
Moran says he isn’t taking sides; however he is most enthused about Wichita State and hopes the tournament demonstrates how the Shockers earned their undefeated record.
