MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Manhattan man was arrested after police say he made quite a scene at a local McDonald's and got into a scuffle with a Riley County police officer at the fast food establishment.
Officers responded to the McDonald's in the 800 block of North 3rd Street in Manhattan Monday night in reference to a person displaying bizarre behavior.
Officials say Warrell Spiller, 19, was pounding on the restaurant's windows and windows of cars parked outside and yelling.
Riley County Police Officer Josh Opat made contact with Spiller at the scene and according to an RCPD spokesman, Spiller attempted to put Opat in a headlock and damaged a side mirror on a police cruiser before he was Tazed and taken into custody.
Spiller was arrested for Battery of a Law Enforcement, Criminal Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct.
His bond was set at $3,000 and he is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail after posting bond.
When asked what police believed to be the cause of Spiller's bizarre behavior, Officer Matt Droge, RCPD's Public Information Officer, said his actions were consistent with someone being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol but Droge could not confirm if Spiller was in fact under the influence of anything Monday night.
Officer Opat was not injured during the incident.
