Manhattan Car Accident Leaves One Pedestrian Injured

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Police are investigating a car accident in Manhattan that left one pedestrian with life threatening injuries.

At 11:15 P.M. Friday night in the 400 block of North Eleventh Street, Riley County Police say eighteen-year-old Matthew Van Horn was driving Southbound when his vehicle collided with twenty-six year old Kevin Wallpe as he ran west across the Eleventh Street alleyway.

Wallpe was transported by Riley County EMS to the Mercy Regional Health Center for life threatening injuries and was later flown to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.The accident investigation is still on-going.
