WICHITA, Kan. (WIBW) - Police have captured a Salina man convicted of killing a child, who escaped from his jail cell Monday.

Antonio Brown, 29, was caught in Wichta. The U.S. Marshal's Service tells our sister station KAKE News that Brown called Marshals from a pay phone to turn himself in. He was picked up in the 2800 block of South Broadway and booked into Sedgwick County Jail around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Brown was scheduled to be sentenced February 12th for the 2011 beating of a 14-month-old.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says human error and under-staffing are to blame for Brown's escape.
