Police ID Man Hit By SUV In Topeka

TPD can now confirm the identity of the pedestrian in this accident as Courtney Moss (male), age 33 of Topeka. Further information is being held at this time due to the current investigation.

WEDNESDAY:
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition Wednesday evening after he was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee, police say.

Topeka Police responded to the scene in the 3100 block of SE 6th around 10:00 p.m. on reports of the car vs. pedestrian accident.

Police tell 13 News the man was crossing the street when he was hit by the Jeep. The driver did stop following the accident. Officials do not believe drugs or alcohol play a factor in the incident.

SE 6th between Tefft St. and Carnahan was closed to all traffic so crews could investigate the incident.

The driver of the Jeep was still at the Law Enforcement Center at 12:20 a.m. Thursday.

The victim's name was not being released until family could be notified.
