KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WIBW) - A Kansas City man was sentenced to 95 years in federal prison for robberies in Topeka and Leavenworth.

55 year old Charles Shaw was found guilty in November of robbing a credit union and bank in Leavenworth.

He was also found guilty of the December 30 holdup at Educational Credit Union on Topeka Boulevard.

He was also convicted of attempting to rob Educational Credit Union again about two months later, caught when he fell and broke his ankle trying to run away.

At sentencing, prosecutors noted that Shaw had five other armed robbery convictions, dating back to 1983.

He must also pay more than $54,000 in restitution.
