TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The man accused of stealing a car to escape after nabbing some items from a Target store in Topeka is being held without bond at Shawnee Co. Jail. Adrian Tyrone Watson faces multiple charges, including Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery, and Aggravated Robbery, according to the Shawnee Co. Dept. of Corrections.

Authorities say Watson stole several items from the Topeka department store around 11:30 Sunday morning. After leaving the store, the 31 year-old reportedly tried to pull someone out of their car in the parking lot. Unable to get the person out, he headed to nearby PetCo where he stole a gold Dodge Intrepid parked there.

Police found the car several hours later near SW 17th and Washburn and Watson was spotted near 17th and Lane. He tried running, but was eventually caught around 17th and Lincoln.
