Man Jumped While Walking Home Alone In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police say a 23-year-old man was beaten and robbed on a Manhattan street.

On Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 2:20 AM, the victim (who police are not identifying) was walking home alone in the 1400 block of Fairchild Avenue near Manhattan Christian College when he was approached by several unknown males.

Police say the men beat the victim up, leaving him with injuries to his torso and head and took several financial and identification cards and cash from his wallet before leaving the area.

A description of the suspects was not provided. Their identities are unknown at this time.

The RCPD is investigating the case and police encourage anyone with information on the incident to contact the department or Manhattan/Riley County Crime Stoppers.
