WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE)— A man was rushed to a Wichita hospital in critical condition after his moped collided with a truck in southwest Wichita.

The crash happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2200 block of South Seneca, north of Pawnee. Wichita Police said a moped was southbound when it was hit by a northbound pickup truck that turned left in front of it.

The moped's driver, a man in his 60s, was rushed to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. Police said the man was not wearing a helmet, and had struck his head on the truck and the pavement.

The driver of the truck had been turning left into a fast food restaurant, and told officers he didn't see the moped.

Police are investigating.
