Man Attempts To Elude Police In Stolen Car

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW-TV) One man is in jail after a car and foot chase with police.

Just before 1:30 a.m. Monday morning, police attempted to stop a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Colorado tags at 6th and SE Liberty.

During the pursuit, the driver, Ian Black, 21, lost control and hit an electronic school zone sign and fence at 4th and Liberty.

Black made it to the 200 block of SE Lime where he attempted to flee on foot but was caught a short time later.

Police say Black admitted to stealing the car and was booked into the Shawnee County Jail on fleeing, elude, obstruction and theft charges.
