Man Arrested Following Morning Chase In Jackson County

Braden M. Spicher 28 of Hoyt was arrested by Jackson County Deputies early Friday morning following a police pursuit that ended in Brown County.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop with the 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Spicher that was allegedly traveling at an excessive speed through the City of Holton around 1:45 a.m. Deputies continued to pursue the vehicle north of Holton on US Hwy 75.

Jackson County authorities requested the Brown County Sheriff’s Office to shut the southbound lane of US Hwy 75 down and to deploy stop sticks in order to end the pursuit.

Tires on the suspect vehicle were deflated and the vehicle came to a stop near the Sac and Fox Casino approximately 15 miles north of where the pursuit began.

Spicher was arrested for driving under the influence, driving while suspended and fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer. Bond was set at $500.00.
