TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Improvement work will cause big changes at two major intersections in Shawnee County.
First, construction crews will close SE 45th St. from Adams to California.
Crews are widening 45th to five lanes with curb, gutter, storm sewers and sidewalks along both sides.
The closure will last until June 27th, after which the intersection of 45th and California will close.
Then, north of town, construction gets underway on NW 46th street between Rochester Rd. and N. Topeka Blvd.
46th will close from the Soldier Township Fire Department, to Topeka Blvd., the intersection also will close.
Crews are widening 46th to three lanes and putting roundabouts at both intersections.
The closure will last until July 31st. After that, the Rochester intersection will close, with 46th closing from there, east to the fire station.
