(WIBW) We are sad to report the passing of another member of our WIBW family.
Marlene Palmer spent 36 years as secretary for the farm and news departments of WIBW radio and television, retiring in the late 1990s. For years, she played a vital role in the station's election coverage, helping to organize volunteers to call in early numbers from polling locations.
Marlene died Thursday. She was 76-years-old.
A funeral service is 11 am Wednesday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd., Topeka. Visitation is from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday.
Her family suggests memorials to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association, sent in care of the funeral home.
