Local Painters And Musician Collaborate To Create Live Art

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Art lovers fed their senses and their bellies at the Burger Stand near Washburn University Saturday evening.

Patrons got to see musician Cody Wayne, who hails from Idaho, perform live while local painters created their artwork at the same time.

Wayne says it allows people to see the creation of a painting from start to finish, on stage.

"Not many people have the opportunity to see painters paint. It's a very personal thing," Wayne said. "For these artists to be able to do this in front of people and zone out and do their thing, it's really putting an intimate level to the art."

"And hopefully they like the music too," he added. Wayne performs Americana, Country, Reggae and most are his originals.

His show "Cody Wayne Live" heads to St. Louis, Missouri, next.
