TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)__ With temperatures possibly hitting record lows overnight, a local organization is opening its doors and providing warmth to the less fortunate.

Let's Help, along with the Topeka volunteer group Silverbacks, are providing an all night warming area to anyone without a home to go to.

Organizers and one man trying to stay warm, spoke about the importance of escaping the dangerously cold night.

"You realize that poverty doesn't end from 9 to 5. It's cold in the weekends, it's cold at night, and there might be folks who are getting off work now that really don't have a place to go." Said Silverbacks President Jude Quinn.

"They stopped me in the middle of the road and gave me a ride here so, ya, I didn't know if I was going to be able to get into the mission. I stopped on the bridge and prayed and they were waiting at the end of the bridge and i thought that was awesome." Shared Joseph Richards

Let's Help is a not for profit organization that serves the Shawnee County and surrounding area.
