TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-Trick-o-treaters had the chance to get a little more than candy Sunday at a local church.
Several kids trick-o-treated at the annual "Trunk or Treat" event at Crestview United Methodist Church.
Church members opened their parking lot and their cars to hand out candy and promote a safe Halloween.
The event not only offered candy, it also offered canned goods, school supplies, and toiletries to members of the community.
Church members say they hope to help families in surrounding neighborhoods and get to know community members better thorough events like this.
