TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A local business owner is biking for a cure.

Eric Nordgren, owner of Aspen Construction Services, began a 250 mile journey through NE Kansas Monday to support cancer research and local cancer patients.

This year, Nordgren is biking for six year old Brighton Taylor who is battling Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Becca Eakes who passed away in October battling stage three Melanoma.

"Both the Taylors and Eakes have some pretty hefty bills," Nordgren said. "That's one of the things this [ride] is all about."

Nordgren was joined by riders with the Kaw Valley Bicycle Club and Topeka Road Riders to finish the last 50 miles from Tinman Circle to Clinton Lake and back.
