TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A local air patrol squadron conducted a change of command Monday evening.
Lt. Col. Michael Madden turned over command of the Topeka Eagle Composite Squadron to Maj. Michael Mathewson.
The Kansas Wing of the Civil Air Patrol has 196 cadets and 243 senior members.
The Topeka Squadron has eight cadets and 14 senior members, of those five are pilots.
The Kansas wing is a private, volunteer, nonprofit corporation that specializes in aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services.
Several awards were also presented before the ceremony.
