The Topeka Public Library and the Topeka Chapter of Links hosted an African-American Read-In Sunday at the library.

The goal of the read in is to make the celebration of African-American literacy a traditional part of Black History Month activities... selections of African-American literature were read aloud in the 23rd National African-American Read-In.

Over a million readers of all ethnic groups from 50 states, the District of Columbia, the West Indies and African countries have participated in the event.
