TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-Members of a joint legislative committee convened at the Statehouse Monday to review the "Hard 50" prison sentence.
The legislative committee listened to state chiefs of prosecution and district attorneys from larger counties to review the "Hard 50" statue.
Attorney General Derek Schmidt says he has spent many hours working to enact a fix to this law so it can return to its prior statue.
Legislators will begin the special session September 3rd and are expected to complete their work within three days.
