TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Local leaders are learning what to do in a time of crisis.

They gathered Wednesday to discuss several different types of incidents and the process they will need to go through in case something happens in Topeka.

Wednesday's orientation included different strategies that should be in place in case a natural disaster or catastrophic event were to occur.

Leaders also learned to how get through the incident after it occurs, using Hurricane Katrina as an example of how to rebuild and repair.
