TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Lawrence Police will be patrolling Topeka streets Saturday as local officers attend services for two fallen colleagues.

Officers from Lawrence, Franklin County, and Douglas County have agreed to patrol Topeka Saturday, so all Topeka Police Officers can attend the funerals of CPL David Gogian and OFC Jeff Atherly, according to WIBW 580 Radio.

Outside agencies spent the week meeting with Shawnee County Sheriff's Office representatives, as well as the Kansas Highway Patrol, who will also help with law enforcement services in the Capital City Saturday.

Outside agencies will patrol in their jurisdictional marked cars, but have been given the ability to enforce laws as needed within the city of Topeka, according to WIBW 580.
