TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Landon Middle School students spent time preparing for an emergency.
The students participated in a full scale evacuation drill Thursday.
It's part of a new comprehensive, all-hazards emergency plan for the school.
"We have yearly meetings with 501, TPD and homeland security and this is one of the things they suggested we do to make sure we don't just tell the kids what to do but you model for the kids what you actually do," said Landon Middle School Principal David Boggs.
Thursday's drill was the first conducted since the school district adopted the plan.
