Kidnapping Ended Safely In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW)-- The kidnapping of a 16 year old girl in Manhattan was quickly and safely ended Wednesday morning.

At 1:12 a.m. Wednesday morning Manhattan law enforcement stopped a speeding car. The occupants told the officer that their 16 year old friend had been kidnapped by a person they identified as Stephanie Sanborn.

About 10 minutes later another officer stopped a car driven by Sanborn. The car was also occupied by the 16 year old identified as the kidnap victim and a 17 year old male.

Officials placed Stephanie L. Sanborn, 30 of 5527 Stone Crest Drive in Manhattan for Kidnapping and Aggravated Intimidation of a Victim.

Sanborn is being held in the Riley County Jail on $25,000 bond.

The 16 year old was reportedly unharmed and released to her parents.
