LAS VEGAS, (AP)-- A former Kansan, wanted for parole violation, has been arrested in connection with the BB Gun robbery of the Las Vegas Bellagio Casino last week.

Las Vegas detectives say that 34 year old Scott Carmitchell, formerly from Overland Park, robbed a cashier of $43,000 last Friday, armed with what turned out to be a BB Gun.

Kansas offender records show that Carmitchell served time for robbery and battery of a Law Enforcement Officer in 1998 and was paroled in May of 2014.

Since then he has been identified as a 'Parole Absconder'.

Las Vegas police say they searched Carmitchell's hotel room and found $10,000 in cash and a BB gun they believe was used in the robbery.

Officials also believe he may have also been involved in the robbery of a South Las Vegas bank July 22nd.
